Downtown Greer was the town’s center of business and entertainment into the 1960s, but became a ghost town in the late ‘60s as railroad commerce shifted to more major routes. In 1998, the organization Partnership for Tomorrow set out to reverse the decline of Greer Station, which is now a thriving downtown area for people to eat, shop and work.
